About Temperature Converter
Celsius and Fahrenheit are both defined by fixed reference points — Celsius sets water's freezing point at 0° and boiling point at 100° at sea-level pressure, while Fahrenheit sets those points at 32° and 212°. Kelvin uses the same size of degree as Celsius but starts at absolute zero (−273.15°C), the coldest temperature theoretically possible, which is why it never goes negative and is preferred in scientific work.
Typical uses include checking a weather forecast given in the 'wrong' scale for where you live, converting oven temperatures between US recipes (Fahrenheit) and everything else (Celsius), and working through physics or chemistry problems that require Kelvin.
A quick sanity check: 0°C is 32°F and 273.15 K, and 100°C is 212°F and 373.15 K. If a converted value doesn't land near those anchor points for water's freezing and boiling temperatures, double-check which unit was selected.
