About Markdown to PDF
Markdown was designed to be readable as plain text while still describing structure — headings, emphasis, lists — which makes it a natural source format for generating a formatted document without a word processor. This converter parses that structure and maps it onto PDF formatting: '#' headings become sized heading text, and lines starting with '-', '*' or a number become bulleted list items. Bold and italic markers (**, *, _) are recognized and stripped out of the text rather than rendered as styled bold or italic runs, and numbered list markers are converted to plain bullets rather than kept as numbers.
This is convenient for turning README files, meeting notes, technical documentation, or blog drafts written in Markdown into something you can print or share as a finished-looking PDF, without opening Word or a page-layout tool just to format a short document.
Because only core Markdown syntax is interpreted, extended features that some Markdown flavors support — tables, fenced code blocks, inline images, footnotes — pass through as plain text rather than being rendered as intended. If your document leans heavily on tables or code blocks, expect those sections to appear unformatted in the output.
