About ZIP Extractor
A ZIP archive stores a central directory at the end of the file listing every entry it contains, along with each entry's compressed size, original size, and where its data sits in the archive. This tool reads that directory when you click Extract and decompresses every entry into memory at that point, rather than waiting until you download an individual file — a very large archive with many entries can use a meaningful amount of memory as soon as extraction runs, not just when you retrieve a file from the list.
This is handy for opening ZIP files you've downloaded — software packages, email attachments, exported project folders — without installing separate archive software. It also lets you pull out just the one or two files you need from a much larger archive instead of extracting the whole thing to disk.
One limitation worth knowing: archives protected with a password can't be opened here, since decrypting them requires the password to be checked against the file, and that isn't supported yet.
