PDF to JPG

Converting a PDF page to JPG means rasterizing it: the page's vector text, embedded images and graphics are all flattened into a single grid of pixels, which is then encoded using JPEG's lossy compression. That's a one-way trip — the resulting image has no concept of separate text or objects anymore, just color values per pixel — but it's exactly the format most image viewers, slideshow tools and websites expect.

This is useful whenever a PDF needs to behave like a picture rather than a document: dropping a single page into a slide deck, generating a thumbnail preview, posting a page to a forum or social platform, or feeding a scanned page into an image-based workflow. Because JPEG favors smooth photographic content, pages with photos or scanned color images tend to convert cleanly.

For pages that are mostly sharp text or fine line art, JPEG's compression can introduce slight blurring or artifacts around hard edges — a lossless format like PNG will preserve those edges more faithfully, at the cost of a larger file. Multi-page PDFs are converted page by page and bundled into a ZIP so nothing is lost in a single-image download.
