About Rotate PDF
Every page in a PDF carries a rotation attribute that tells viewers and printers which way to display it, independent of the actual content stream underneath. Rotating a page is a matter of changing that attribute rather than redrawing anything, which is why the operation is instant even on long documents and why it never touches the underlying text or image data.
This makes it the right fix for pages that were scanned sideways or upside down — a common outcome when a document feeder pulls in a mixed stack of portrait and landscape originals, or when a photo of a page was taken at the wrong angle. Rather than re-scanning, rotating the finished PDF corrects the orientation in seconds.
Because nothing about the page's content is altered, rotating doesn't change file size and doesn't affect print or display quality — it's a pure orientation flip. It also applies uniformly to the whole document; a file with some pages already upright and others sideways needs those problem pages separated out, rotated on their own, and merged back in, since a single rotation angle can't fix a mixed-orientation document.
